The Linlithgow 10K, now in its 33rd edition, is set to take place on Sunday, September 27th, at 2:30 PM. Organized by the dedicated members of Linlithgow Athletic Club, this race offers a unique blend of scenic beauty and competitive spirit. The route starts along bustling Linlithgow High Street before winding through historic sites leading up to the picturesque finish line near Linlithgow Palace Peel area. Participants will enjoy running past charming local landmarks while engaging with an enthusiastic crowd lining the streets. Race organizers are offering technical T-shirts for all participants, featuring a distinctive 2026 logo. Runners can also opt to support Macmillan Cancer Support by donating the cost of their shirt instead. The race boasts individual and team prizes, ranging from £400 for first-place male and female seniors down to £100 for top V60/V70/V80 male/female runners. Race numbers with integrated timing chips will be available starting at midday on race day, up until 1:30 PM. These can be picked up from the Linlithgow Community Development Trust located at 6-7 The Vennel (the old library building). Pacers are once again a feature of this year's event, with options for runners aiming to complete their distance within times ranging between 40 minutes and one hour five minutes. However, due to logistical constraints, the race will adhere strictly to a time limit of one hour forty minutes. Perfect Timing is responsible for timing and recording results which can be accessed online at http://perfecttimingscotland.co.uk/results/. Race participants have access to downloadable certificates upon request after crossing the finish line. The entry fee stands at £25.00 for SAL members, with unaffiliated runners paying £27.00. Entry closes on September 20th at midnight or once the field reaches capacity. A waiting list is available if needed and entries can be transferred up until one week before closing date. Sponsors contributing to this year's race include Thompsons Solicitors Scotland, Tesco, Linlithgow Academy, Stirling Distillery, Active Root, Tunnock’s, Specsavers, Linlithgow Physiotherapy, Burton’s Biscuits, Graham’s Family Dairies, Magnum Packaging and Scottish Dental Care. To enter the 10K race, participants must be eligible to compete under SAL rules, aged at least fifteen years old on race day, and capable of completing a ten-kilometer distance within one hour forty minutes. For runners younger than eighteen, entries should be made by their parent or legal guardian. All entrants participate entirely at their own risk.
