Immerse yourself in the world of off-road mountain biking with Total Body Fitness (TBF) Mountain Bike Clinics, designed for riders at all levels to enhance their skills and confidence on challenging terrains. The clinic offers two distinct skill levels: Level 1 focuses on mastering the essentials, while Level 2 delves deeper into advanced techniques. At TBF's Level 1 Clinic, participants will learn crucial aspects such as equipment setup and bike maintenance, trail etiquette, gear selection, cadence control, shifting strategies, balance, body positioning, pedal technique, grip pressure management, starting and stopping methods, cornering skills tailored to various surface types and conditions, wheel lifts, front and rear hops over curbs. The day concludes with a short trail ride where newly acquired skills are put into practice. For those ready for an elevated challenge, the Level 2 Clinic builds on these foundations by reviewing basics and introducing more complex terrain reading techniques. Riders will learn line selection strategies that cater to different speeds and alternative routes, passing techniques including verbal communication and acceleration methods, climbing and descending tactics focusing on pedal technique, cadence control, and body movement optimization. Additionally, participants will tackle obstacles such as drop-offs and sand riding with jumping techniques. Both clinics feature a variety of sweet trails, granite boulders, jumps, rock gardens, and more, providing an extensive range of terrains to test your skills against. The day’s activities culminate in a coached ride on local trails at Granite Beach, allowing you to practice new skills under expert guidance before confirming them through real-world application. The TBF Mountain Bike Clinics are enriched with professional coaching from experienced MTB instructors who share their insights and favorite riding spots during the sessions. Refreshments courtesy of Clif Bar and FLUID fuel/snacks will be provided throughout the day, ensuring you stay energized as you progress through various drills and skill practices.
