Explore Hampshire's diverse landscapes with this challenging ultra marathon, spanning from the chalky downs of northern Hampshire and Berkshire to the picturesque villages dotting southern Southampton. The route follows the historic Test Way, offering runners an immersive journey through the region’s natural beauty.
Two race options are available: a 50-mile Ultra Marathon and a slightly shorter 40-mile version, both featuring over 2198 feet of elevation gain. These courses showcase Hampshire's varied terrain, with stretches that can be fast and technical sections where runners must navigate carefully.
The event begins early in the morning at Linkenholt car park, with race briefings starting around an hour before each start time. The 50-mile race kicks off at 8:00 AM while the 40-mile run starts a half-hour later. A clear approach to course marking ensures runners can focus on their performance without worrying about navigation.
The Test Way provides a well-established path, marked thoroughly by volunteers in advance of the event. As daylight fades and runners push through the final miles, high-visibility signs guide them along the route. This attention to detail guarantees that participants are supported every step of the way.
Post-race transportation is available for an additional £10 fee via a coach service from Totton back to Linkenholt. However, please note there will be no deferrals allowed after four weeks leading up to the event date.
Participants must collect their race bibs on the day at registration and receive mandatory kit lists two weeks before the event by email. Dogs are welcome for distances up to a marathon but should remain leashed and under control throughout the route, especially considering weather conditions.
