Thanet Coastal 10 & 5 Mile

The Thanet Coastal 10 & 5 Mile returns to the picturesque coast of East Kent in December, offering runners an invigorating way to cap off their racing season before the holiday festivities begin. Organized by Thanet Roadrunners and drawing inspiration from the popular Alan Green Thanet 10 Mile route, this event promises a scenic journey along the Thanet Coast.
Participants can choose between two distances: a challenging 10-mile course or a more manageable 5-mile option. Both routes wind through stunning coastal landscapes with breathtaking views of the sea stretching out before you. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, making it perfect for runners at all levels seeking one final push in their training year.
Upon crossing the finish line, every participant receives an exclusive medal commemorating this special event. Refreshments are abundant to help everyone recover post-race, complemented by a soundtrack of live music and commentary that adds to the celebratory mood.
For those eager to track their performance immediately after completing the race, results will be available on our website in real-time as you cross the finish line. Awards are given for top male and female runners overall, along with separate prizes for first-place men and women aged 40+, 50+ and 60+. The venue features comprehensive facilities including full refreshment stations, baggage storage areas, and clean restroom facilities. Advanced entry fees are set at £28 for affiliated club members and £30 for unaffiliated runners for the 10-mile race; advanced entries for the shorter distance cost £24 for affiliates and £26 for non-affiliates.
On-the-day registrations may be possible depending on availability, with higher day-of-event fees of £35 for the longer route and £30 for the 5-mile option. Note that entry is restricted to individuals aged at least 17 years old for the 10 Mile race and a minimum age requirement of 15 for those opting for the shorter distance.
