The 5K Foam Fest - Sydney 2026 returns to Horsley Park in New South Wales on December 5th. This one-of-a-kind obstacle course-based fun run is a community favorite, attracting participants of all ages and abilities.
Horsley Park offers a scenic backdrop for the event; runners will start their journey along the picturesque park paths at sunrise. The atmosphere on race morning is lively with music playing from various speakers set up throughout the grounds, creating an upbeat vibe as families gather to enjoy the day's festivities. The event spans across 25 obstacles including the world’s largest inflatable waterslide and mud pits, all while being blanketed in over two million cubic feet of foam.
The tradition of The 5K Foam Fest began several years ago with a small group of local runners and has since grown into an annual celebration supporting various community causes. This year marks its return after a successful run last December, bringing together hundreds of participants who range from seasoned athletes to families looking for fun activities on the holiday weekend.
The course venue is marked by diverse terrain; it includes smooth park paths with sections that turn into uneven and muddy trails leading up to challenging obstacles such as climbing walls and balance beams. The layout ensures a mix of running and walking, allowing everyone to enjoy at their own pace. Notable features include an exhilarating inflatable waterslide and multiple mud pits where participants can get completely soaked in foam.
On the day of the race, the course will have several aid stations positioned strategically along its path, offering water and refreshments for runners. Additionally, a free kids zone is set up specifically for children aged 6 and under to keep them entertained while parents participate or spectate. Participants should arrive at the start location located in the central area of Horsley Park in New South Wales. The event welcomes all ages; however, children under 16 must have a parent or guardian accompanying them during registration for safety reasons.
