Westleigh Fun Run

The Westleigh Fun Run returns to Hornsby Shire on 15th November 2026, bringing together runners of all levels for a memorable day filled with fun and community spirit. The race starts in the heart of Westleigh Village at 4/8 Eucalyptus Drive, where participants will be greeted by the familiar streets and stunning valley views of Berowra Valley Regional Park.
Race morning finds the air crisp but comfortable, with temperatures typically ranging from a low of around 12°C to a high of about 17°C. The UV index is generally quite low at 2.0, making it an ideal autumn day for outdoor activities and ensuring that runners can enjoy the vibrant colors of the season without worrying too much about sun exposure. Expect firm but slightly soft ground conditions as you make your way through Hornsby Shire.
The inaugural Westleigh Fun Run has quickly become a significant event in the local calendar, celebrating its first year with over 500 participants across various distances and age groups. The course takes runners through the beautiful streets of Westleigh, offering spectacular views of Berowra Valley Regional Park as you navigate firm and slightly soft terrain on closed roads. The 10km run commences at 8:00 AM, followed by the 5km race or walk starting ten minutes later. For families with young children, there’s a special Family Dash taking place from 9:30 AM.
Atop the course layout are notable features such as fully supported aid stations providing hydration and snacks for runners throughout their journey. Safety is paramount, ensuring that medical support teams will be on hand to assist participants in case of any needs during the race.
Race distances include a 10km run - Adult (Age 17+) or Junior (Age 14-16), a 5km run - Adult (Age 17+) or Junior (Age 7-16), and a Family Dash for all ages, covering just two kilometres. Entry fees are A$50 for the adult 10K, A$45 for junior 10K, A$40 for the adult 5K, A$30 for junior 5K, and A$25 for the Family Dash.
