The Crawford's Group Mid Argyll Sprint Triathlon and Aquathlon 2026

Nestled within the picturesque landscapes of Argyll, Scotland, awaits the Crawford's Group Mid Argyll Triathlon for 2026. This beloved annual event invites athletes to experience the beauty and history of this stunning region through a challenging yet accessible course.
The triathlon itself features a refreshing pool swim in the newly refurbished MAC Pool, with its pristine waters stretching over 20 meters. Cyclists then pedal past the serene Mhoine Mhor national nature reserve before reaching Dunadd Hill Fort – an ancient site where kings of Dalriada were once crowned. The run leg follows alongside the famous Crinan Canal, offering a flat and scenic route that showcases Argyll’s unique charm.
For those looking for something slightly less daunting but equally rewarding, this year also sees the return of our Aquathlon event. Competitors will start with a 500-meter pool swim followed by a 2.5-kilometer run along the Crinan Canal – perfect for newcomers or seasoned athletes alike who want to focus on their swimming and running skills without the added challenge of cycling.
Both events are supported by the local community, ensuring that participants receive friendly encouragement throughout each leg of the race. The event is also affiliated with Triathlon Scotland, guaranteeing a well-organized experience from start to finish.
Race day begins early at 8:30 AM when registration opens, allowing ample time for athletes to prepare and familiarize themselves with the course layout before the swim starts promptly at 10:30 AM. All competitors are encouraged to be registered by 9:50 AM and attend a race briefing held at 10:00 AM.
Entry fees vary based on age categories, ranging from £27 for juniors up to £47 for adults in the full triathlon event, with discounts available for early entries. Team races also have specific pricing tiers. Additionally, every participant will receive a commemorative race memento as part of their experience.
The Mid Argyll Community Pool Café is open before and during the event, offering refreshments to keep athletes fueled throughout the day. Parents or guardians must provide consent forms for all competitors under 18 years old at registration.
