The Danube Canal Relays 2026

The Danube Canal Relays (TDCR) is back for its fourth exhilarating edition, inviting teams to come together and race through the scenic canal pathways. This year’s theme—“Come Together To Race”—promises an afternoon filled with camaraderie, speed, and spirited competition.
Joining us this time around is ASICS athlete Simon Boch, who will share insights on running and community building during a panel discussion. Whether you're a seasoned participant or new to the event, TDCR offers a unique blend of teamwork and individual prowess in a 2KM relay format.
Each team consists of four members—two women and two men—who take turns running one kilometer each way along the canal course. The baton is handed off between runners at designated points, ensuring smooth transitions and maintaining race integrity. Teams are divided into heats to minimize congestion on the route while maximizing excitement for all competitors.
To ensure fair play and accurate timing, teams must carry a watch attached to their baton throughout the relay. A strict handover protocol guarantees that no runner starts without receiving the baton properly from their teammate. Precision in this process is crucial; any deviation could result in additional time penalties or disqualification.
With 25 spots available for bragging rights and fantastic prizes, TDCR challenges teams to push themselves and each other towards victory. As you race along the picturesque canal path, enjoy a day of spirited competition and shared triumphs with fellow runners from across the community.
