Experience the rolling landscapes of southwest Oklahoma at The Dehydrator, a unique cycling event that spans from 10 to 80 miles through Stephens County's picturesque hills and plains. This non-competitive ride offers five distinct distances, each offering its own charm: a flat but hilly 10-mile course; longer options like the challenging 25-, 50-, 62-, and the epic 80-mile route. The 80-mile adventure comes with a timed gate that may be in effect depending on weather conditions. Participants must reach this point by approximately 33 miles out, giving them around three hours to make it through at about 10 mph pace; otherwise, they will be rerouted to the more manageable 62-mile course. Riders are informed of any changes before starting. The Dehydrator team ensures clear marking for all courses and provides downloadable maps on their website and via Map My Ride App. However, last-minute adjustments might require some flexibility in navigation. Aid stations are set up approximately every 10 miles along the route to ensure riders stay hydrated with plenty of fluids, fruits, and delicious homemade cookies. This event has earned its reputation as one of Oklahoma's top cycling experiences, known for its intense heat that adds an extra layer of challenge. It is hosted at Duncan’s premier sports center, Simmons Center, providing a perfect setting for both seasoned cyclists and newcomers alike to enjoy the ride. Don't miss out on this unforgettable adventure! Get registered now, pack your sunscreen, camera, and bike, and join in the fun. For more details, visit www.thedehydrator.org.
