The Drogo 10

About the Event

Immerse yourself in the rugged beauty and challenging terrain of Devonshire with the "Drogo 10" cross-country race. This annual event offers runners an unforgettable experience along the hilly, muddy trails that wind through the picturesque Teign valley.
Starting at Castle Drogo near Exeter, participants will tackle a course measuring 16 kilometers (10 miles) in length and boasting a total elevation gain of 535 meters (1760 feet). The route is marked with clear signage at all major junctions to help guide runners through the scenic yet demanding landscape. A key highlight is the notorious Hunter's Path hill, which tests even the most seasoned runners.
The race adheres strictly to FRA rules and principles, ensuring a fair and safe competition environment. Water stations are available at strategic points along the course—specifically at 3.3 miles (Fingle Bridge) and again at 8.4 miles—to help participants stay hydrated during their journey through this challenging terrain.
Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers, as well as age category winners, recognizing outstanding performance on a day when every runner faces the same demanding conditions.
Race-day merchandise includes traditional long-sleeved technical t-shirts made from 100% recycled polyester. These shirts can be pre-ordered for £12 each to collect at the event.
Entry transfers are possible through your SiEntries account, but refunds and deferrals will not be issued under any circumstances. Additionally, dogs and headphones are prohibited during the race to ensure a safe environment for all participants.
To safeguard against potential tree-related viruses, runners may need to pass through foot baths before entering or exiting certain areas of the course.
Half of each entry fee is donated directly to the National Trust to support their efforts in maintaining Castle Drogo. The event organizers reserve the right to cancel due to extreme weather conditions or other factors that could compromise safety within the estate grounds.
Join us for a day filled with breathtaking views, thrilling challenges, and an appreciation for one of England's most historic landscapes.
