About the Event

The George and Dragon Race returns on Sunday, August 29, 2027, offering runners the chance to tackle either a challenging 20-mile course or a more manageable yet still exhilarating 10-mile route. This annual event takes place in Lancaster's historic setting at The George and Dragon pub, located at St George’s Quay.
Participants will experience a scenic journey through varied terrain as they navigate roads that wind around the city and along riverside paths. To ensure safety for all runners and spectators, race organizers strictly enforce regulations prohibiting standard headphones; only bone conduction headphones are permitted to maintain awareness of surroundings during the run.
Awards await every finisher at The George and Dragon pub, with special prizes reserved for the top three male and female competitors in both distance categories. This event is not just a test of endurance but also an opportunity to celebrate community spirit and athletic achievement.
For more information or inquiries about race day logistics, interested runners can contact the event organizers directly via phone at 07821 328210. Please note that this year’s edition adheres strictly to UK Athletic Rules regarding refunds, swaps, or deferrals; therefore, participants should plan accordingly.
