The Great Herts AONB Event offers runners an unforgettable journey through the picturesque landscapes of Hertfordshire. The race begins and ends on the vibrant Gosmore Village Green, with participants setting off from Maydencroft Lane for a mass start at 8:30am sharp. The event features varied terrain, including flat stretches, rolling hills, and scenic trails that wind through the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) countryside. Participants will enjoy free parking just minutes away from the race village in Gosmore, making it convenient to collect your entry number and timing chip either on Saturday or Sunday morning. The routes take you past charming villages and along well-maintained tracks within the Chilterns AONB, offering stunning views at every turn. In addition to the main event, a special Runners & Riders kids' race will entertain young participants with a unique GP-style course right in Gosmore Village Green while adults are out on their routes. All proceeds from this children’s event and a portion of adult entry fees go towards supporting local charities. Race results will be available instantly online after the finish line, adding to the excitement for runners eager to see how they performed against competitors. The race offers several distance options tailored to different preferences and abilities, ensuring there's an ideal challenge for every runner. To ensure everyone’s safety and enjoyment, participants are reminded not to litter along the course; any waste should be handed over to marshals stationed throughout the route. Leashed pets are welcome but must remain under control at all times. Prizes will be awarded to both male and female overall winners as well as age group champions on race day. Detailed instructions regarding bib collection, parking locations, and more will be communicated via email prior to the event date of June 6th, 2027. For those looking for a scenic run with an added touch of community spirit, this is your perfect destination in Hertfordshire's enchanting countryside. Join us at The Great Herts AONB Event and experience running through some of England’s most beautiful landscapes.
