The Hardmoors 15

About the Event

Nestled along the rugged coast of North Yorkshire, the Hardmoors 15 is an annual endurance race that has captivated runners and walkers alike for years. This circular route stretches approximately 18 miles through some of England's most stunning landscapes, beginning and ending at the picturesque village of Robin Hood’s Bay.
With a capacity limited to just 150 participants each year, early registration is highly recommended due to its popularity. The race begins promptly at 9:00 AM from Fylingdales Village Hall in Robin Hoods Bay, with an initial briefing starting at 8:40 AM for all entrants.
The course itself weaves through the North York Moors National Park, offering a challenging yet rewarding experience that includes varied terrain and elevation changes. Participants can expect to traverse both woodland paths and open moorland as they make their way around this scenic circuit. The race is designed with an 8-hour time limit for runners and walkers.
Safety is of paramount importance at the Hardmoors 15, which is why dogs are not allowed on the course. Additionally, a portion of each entry fee goes towards supporting the Cleveland Way National Trail, ensuring that participants contribute to preserving these beautiful landscapes for future generations.
In case severe weather conditions necessitate race cancellation, runners should be aware that no refunds will be provided due to incurred costs but an alternative entry into another Hardmoors Race up to the value of their original registration will be offered. To mitigate risk and ensure peace of mind, participants have the option to purchase XCover insurance.
For detailed information about the event, including course maps and race day logistics, visit www.hardmoors110.org.uk. The Hardmoors 15 promises an unforgettable experience for those who love a challenge in one of England’s most picturesque settings.
Enjoy your adventure on the moors!

Scenic view of

Whitby is a picturesque town on the coast of North Yorkshire. It was the home of Captain Cook, but is more famous as the place where Bram Stoker's Dracula landed in England. It had a population of 12,600 in 2021. On fine summer weekends it's thronged with visitors, and on moonlit nights during the Goth Festivals it hosts an imponderable number of the Undead.
