Welcome to the inaugural Huckleberry Hundred Ultra Race, set against the breathtaking backdrop of Mt. Spokane State Park in the heart of Washington's Inland Northwest. This race promises an unparalleled trail running experience with its challenging terrain and stunning scenery. The course is a scenic 25-mile loop that winds through rugged mountain trails, offering runners sweeping descents into lush inland rainforests and panoramic views of the Selkirk Mountains. Each lap features technical singletrack paths, ensuring a true test for even the most seasoned ultrarunners. With every mile completed, you'll return to the main staging area at Race HQ where community spirit is palpable, making it easy to access drop bags and receive support from your crew. The event offers three distances: 100 miles (4 loops), 50 miles (2 loops), and a half distance of 25 miles. Each loop climbs over 4,750 feet in elevation gain, totaling 19,000 feet for the full hundred-mile journey. The race starts on Saturday morning with staggered start times to avoid congestion: the 50 and 100 mile races begin at 7:00 AM while the 25-mile event kicks off an hour later. Aid stations are strategically placed along each loop, providing essential hydration and nutrition such as water, Coke, Hummingbird Fuel, and a variety of sweet and salty snacks. The race concludes on Sunday evening with generous cutoff times to ensure that every runner has ample opportunity to complete their chosen distance. Upon crossing the finish line, you'll receive custom engraved awards reflecting your achievement: 100-mile runners will be awarded a heavy gunmetal belt buckle while 25 and 50 mile participants will earn unique cast medals. Race attire includes race-specific t-shirts available at registration, adding to the sense of camaraderie among competitors. Participants can also look forward to comfortable facilities with ample parking space and well-maintained restroom options. The event is committed to providing a quality experience for all runners by limiting each distance to 50 participants due to its inaugural status this year. For those traveling from afar, Mt. Spokane State Park offers camping reservations within the park itself or you can opt for local hotels with recommendations provided by race organizers based on their own experiences during scouting trips. While pets are not permitted at the event site due to insurance policies, runners will enjoy a wildlife-rich environment that includes sightings of black bears feasting on huckleberries. With its commitment to delivering an unforgettable ultra-running experience and showcasing some of Washington's finest natural beauty, the Huckleberry Hundred Ultra Race invites you to join us for this once-in-a-lifetime adventure. Spokane is the second-largest city in Washington State, and the largest between Seattle and Minneapolis.
