The Larix

The Larix returns to Bridesville in British Columbia on October 3rd, offering a challenging yet beautiful journey through the fall landscapes of Baldy Mountain.
Baldy is known for its stunning vistas; this race capitalizes on that by taking runners and walkers through a variety of terrain. The course starts just before the base area and winds up to the peak, showcasing Larch trees in their autumn splendor. For 2026, participants can choose between the classic 10 km trail or the new 21 km route, which explores more trails than ever before.
Baldy Mountain has a rich tradition of hosting events that bring together local communities and nature enthusiasts; The Larix is no exception. Since its inaugural year in 2025, it has established itself as an important event for both seasoned runners and newcomers alike. With this expansion to the 21 km race, there's more adventure to be had. The race supports a cause that matters deeply to the community, making it something worth attending.
The course features single track trails alongside wide open fields and double tracks. Two aid stations will provide support on both routes; one station is passed through twice by runners in each distance. For those choosing the 21 km route, there's an additional circular loop that leads through the Sugarlump area before heading back to the base.
On race morning, expect a typical October day with temperatures ranging from 1.8°C to 11.9°C and a feel of around 6.2°C. The wind will be gentle at about 5 km/h, while humidity levels sit comfortably at 71%. There's a small chance of light rainfall (1.6 mm) or even snowfall (0.3 mm), but the main concern is firm yet slightly soft trail conditions due to recent weather patterns.
The Larix offers two distances: The Larix 10k | 10K, with fees at CA$40.94; and The Larix 21k | 21K, priced at CA$96.46.
