The Final Chapter: The Last Hour
Join us for the grand finale of the Happy Hour Series on Friday, August 20th, as we conclude our summer trail running tradition with an evening fun run through Vanderwater Conservation Area. This picturesque setting offers a gentle yet engaging terrain over its rolling hills and serene forests.
Located at 512 Vanderwater Road in Thomasburg, Ontario (K0K 2Y0), the conservation area features stunning pine groves, ancient boulder fields, and the refreshing sounds of the Moira River. The wide trails are perfect for running alongside friends or enjoying a solo journey under the evening sky.
Please note that parking at Vanderwater is $6 per vehicle, payable by cash, debit, or credit card upon entry through the paid gate. This contribution supports the maintenance of these beautiful and well-loved trails.
The 8km route winds through varied landscapes, offering runners plenty to admire as they traverse the conservation area's natural beauty. While there are no aid stations on course, a porta-potty is available in the main parking lot for convenience.
Bib pick-up will be available one hour before race start at the registration tent near the trailhead entrance. Day-of registration can also be completed during this time for an additional $30 fee.
Timing will be done manually without any placement awards given, ensuring a relaxed and friendly atmosphere focused on enjoyment rather than competition.
Participants who complete all four races in our Happy Hour Series will receive special recognition at The Last Hour with custom Dirty Soles swag available for purchase. Those completing the series will also earn an exclusive medal.
This event is designed to be welcoming and informal, catering to both seasoned runners and those just starting out. We encourage you to take your time and savor every moment as we celebrate another successful summer season of trail running together in Vanderwater Conservation Area.
