Celebrate unity and remembrance on what would have been Lennie Antonelli's and Jake Hill’s birthday, marking their one-year absence. This memorial ride brings together friends, family, and the cycling community to honor these valued members of our riding group. The event will commence at 6:00 PM in downtown Marshall, North Carolina, with a relaxed and conversational pace guiding participants through an approximately 11-mile out-and-back route along NC-251. The ride will traverse from the town center to the site where Lennie and Jake’s accident occurred before returning home. This is not a competitive event; there will be no timing or results, ensuring that all riders can enjoy the journey together in peaceful remembrance. Participants are encouraged to support one another while maintaining safe practices and abiding by traffic laws. All skill levels are welcome—whether you knew Lennie and Jake personally or simply wish to show your solidarity with their memory. Your presence is meaningful as we collectively honor them and strive to build a community that reflects the values they cherished so much. The event, free for all participants, also invites contributions to The White Line Foundation—an advocacy group dedicated to reducing traffic fatalities. By supporting this organization, you contribute to efforts aimed at preventing similar tragedies in the future. For your safety and the well-being of everyone involved, we request that riders carpool or travel together from Gravelo Workshop in Asheville starting at 5:00 PM. There are limited parking spots available (only 50) in Marshall; therefore, please ensure you arrive with a partner to share the ride. Overflow parking is provided after 5:00 PM in the Wells Fargo lot for those who cannot find space downtown. This event not only honors Lennie and Jake but also strengthens our community's commitment to safety and respect. We look forward to your participation.
