The Round Res Relay is an exhilarating team-based race that circles Scammonden Water, located northwest of Huddersfield. Teams of three runners tackle the 30k course together, with each member covering different distances: one runs solo for a challenging 15 kilometers, another takes on a brisk 10-kilometer stretch, and the final runner completes a fast-paced 5 kilometers. The event begins at 6:30 PM, allowing teams to register between 5:30 PM and 7:00 PM. While registration is flexible throughout this window, it's crucial that your first runner be ready on time for the start of the race at 6:30 PM sharp. Participants will enjoy GPS tracking during their run, adding an element of excitement as spectators can follow each team’s progress from a dedicated Tracking Station set up near Scammonden Water. This feature not only enhances safety but also provides entertainment for those cheering on the runners. Race batons are issued at registration to ensure smooth transitions between teammates. A baggage store is conveniently located next to the registration area, making it easy for teams to leave personal items while they focus on their run. Entry fees start at £33 per team in early bird pricing and there's a limit of 45 teams overall. No entries will be accepted on race day itself, so interested runners should act quickly to secure spots for themselves or their clubs. The top-performing team is awarded a trophy as an enduring symbol of victory. However, last year’s winners must remember to return the trophy to ensure this year's champions have something tangible to celebrate with. To fuel up after the race, teams can indulge in 11-inch thin and crispy pizzas from various options such as Margherita, Bacon & Pepperoni, Al Fungi (Mushroom), Pollo Fungi (Chicken and Mushroom), Toscana (Pepperoni, Ham Onions & Mushrooms), Bolognese (Hotshot’s special recipe homemade sauce), Meat Feast (the lot!), or a simple Pepperoni. Orders can be placed during registration or ahead of time, with the deadline being Friday at 8:00 PM. The Round Res Relay offers not just a challenging course but also an engaging team atmosphere and post-race rewards that make it a memorable event for all involved. Join fellow runners to experience this unique relay race around Scammonden Water. Whether you're part of a club or looking to form a new group, the Round Res Relay promises camaraderie, competition, and delicious food at the finish line.

About Scammonden
Learn more about the host city, Scammonden.
Scammonden or Dean Head was a village close to Huddersfield, in the Dean Head Valley, England, before the valley was flooded to create Scammonden Reservoir in the 1960s. The M62 motorway crosses the dam wall and then passes through a cutting to the west over which Scammonden Bridge carries the B6114. The Chapel of St Bartholomew still exists, as does the old vicarage, which is now home to Scammonden Sailing Club.
