The Silkin Way Ultra (and half)

On Saturday, March 27th, runners will converge on the town of Telford for the eleventh edition of The Silkin Way Ultra. This race commemorates the 50-year milestone of the Silkin Way and offers participants a choice between an exhilarating half marathon or a challenging 50K (ish) ultra distance.
The route begins from the southern side of Telford, tracing along the River Severn before heading north to Bratton. Upon reaching this picturesque village, runners are treated to essential refuelling stops and then head back through bustling Telford. The course continues westward towards Coalbrookdale and Ironbridge, two historic sites rich in industrial heritage.
Aid stations are strategically placed at 6 miles, the half marathon mark of 13.1 miles, and again at 20 miles to ensure runners stay hydrated and energized throughout their journey. Course markings include detailed maps, GPX files, chalk arrows, and council way markers for clear guidance along the route.
Race HQ is located at The Unicorn Inn on Holly Road in Little Dawley, Telford, providing a central meeting point before and after the race day activities. This event promises an unforgettable blend of scenic beauty, historical landmarks, and challenging terrain, making it a must-attend for both seasoned runners and those looking to push their limits.
