The Sussex Beer Mile

Experience the ultimate twist on tradition with Sussex Trail Events’ inaugural trail beer mile, set for 2026 at Ferring near Worthing. This unique race blends the classic allure of the beer mile with the rugged charm of grass trails.
Competitors will adhere to official beer mile rules but in a new setting that challenges both body and spirit. Each participant must complete four laps around a scenic trail, downing one cup of beer after each lap. For those who prefer not to tackle all four beers individually, teams are welcome; simply divide the task among members with one lap per team member.
The event promises an unforgettable atmosphere as runners navigate the grassy terrain under their own steam and with a bit more pep from brews. The best-performing team will be crowned Beer Kings of Sussex and awarded a special cup to commemorate their victory.
Registration begins at 12:00 PM, followed by the race start at 12:30 PM sharp. All activities take place in Ferring near Worthing, where car parking is provided for convenience. Participants should arrive dressed and ready to run as there are no changing facilities available on site.
