The Valentine Memorial Walk & Run in Support of Catholic Education
About the Event
Celebrate the spirit of community and faith with The Valentine Memorial Walk & Run on Sunday, September 27, 2026. Organized by the Calgary Catholic Education Foundation (CCEF), this heartwarming gathering honors the legacy of Ted and Shirley Valentine, who dedicated their lives to promoting strong Catholic education within the vibrant schools of the Calgary Catholic School District. The event welcomes participants from all walks of life — students, alumni, staff members, parents, grandparents, parishioners, and friends. Whether you choose to walk or run, there are options for everyone: a 1 km Kids Walk & Run designed especially for young ones and their families, along with a more challenging 5 km route that caters to older children and adults. The picturesque South Glenmore Park provides the perfect backdrop for this family-friendly morning. As you meander through the park's scenic trails, take time to appreciate the lush greenery and serene surroundings while reflecting on the values of community and education championed by Ted and Shirley Valentine. In addition to the walking and running routes, a dedicated Kids Activity Area offers fun-filled entertainment and engaging activities for children and families. This inclusive space ensures that everyone can enjoy themselves in an atmosphere rich with camaraderie and shared purpose. Join us as we come together to support Catholic education and create lasting memories while honoring those who have made such significant contributions to the lives of students across 120 schools within Calgary's vibrant educational community. The Valentine Memorial Walk & Run is more than just a race; it’s an opportunity to celebrate, connect, and contribute to a cause that matters deeply.
