The Watermelon Criterium - Juniors and Masters NJ State Criterium Championship!
About the Event
Race enthusiasts, get ready for an exciting addition to this year’s calendar! The annual Watermelon Criterium returns with its vibrant spirit and competitive atmosphere. This July 4th, the event takes place on the picturesque Livingston Campus of Rutgers University, located in Piscataway, New Jersey. Registration opens at 8:00 AM on race day for those eager to participate or compete. Early birds have a chance to save $5 by registering before May 1st. Additional discounts are available; participants can enjoy an extra $10 off if they register for the second event of the series, and there’s even a special late fee waiver for those who sign up on race day. The pit area is conveniently situated near the start/finish line with no neutral service offered. A free lap is provided until five laps remain to ensure every racer has an equal chance at success. Remember, this is a wheels in/wheels out event – make sure your bike is ready for action! Parking logistics are straightforward but important: vehicles should be parked only in the designated Lot 103 located adjacent to the course on Road 3. Parking on grass areas will not be tolerated as they are reserved for race officials and vehicles. For those traveling, detailed directions lead you straight to the Livingston Campus of Rutgers University. Begin your journey from various points by heading towards Avenue E, take a second left onto Rockafeller Road, then make a right at the first intersection onto Joyce Kilmer Rd. Continue on this road until reaching Road 3 where Lot 103 can be found immediately on your left. Registration and warm-up will commence just down the street from there. Bikereg charges a small fee for online registration, but we highly recommend doing so to streamline race day operations. Online registration not only saves time but also ensures smoother check-in procedures. Mark your calendars for July 4th; it’s going to be an unforgettable experience filled with excitement and friendly competition!
