This beloved race, held over both Saturday and Sunday at the start of January, offers runners an unforgettable experience with its picturesque setting and friendly atmosphere.
The trail follows the former railway line from Ashbourne to Buxton, providing traffic-free paths that wind through the rolling hills of Derbyshire Dales. The route features a gentle uphill climb on the outbound leg followed by a slight downhill return, ensuring a challenging yet rewarding course for all participants. Spectacular views await at every turn, making this race not just about reaching the finish line but also enjoying the journey.
Whether you're new to longer distance races or a seasoned runner looking for another challenge, the Tissington Trail offers flexibility with two distances and multiple days of competition. The event is known for its quick sell-out, so securing your spot early is recommended.
Participants will receive a bespoke medal upon completion and can download detailed route maps in advance to prepare thoroughly. Free photographs capture memorable moments from the race day, while trophies and prizes are awarded to top finishers.
Entry fees on the day of the event include £45 for the half marathon and £35 for the 10k run (subject to availability). All registered runners will receive comprehensive information leading up to the race date.
