Experience the thrill of Tuesday Night Crits at Rentschler Field as part of the Connecticut Cycling Advancement Program's (CCAP) TNC Series. The series kicks off on June 2nd with TNC #1 and wraps up on August 4th with a Finale, featuring race nights every other Tuesday throughout summer. Join us for an evening that combines fun, friendly competition, and camaraderie among racers of all skill levels—from novice cyclists to experienced Cat-1 Racers. Whether you're looking to maintain your fitness during the off-season or simply want to enjoy racing on a Tuesday night, these events have something for everyone. Each race is divided into "A" and "B" categories: - The "A" race caters to professional-level racers, including Cat 1, 2, and 3 cyclists. - The "B" race welcomes novices and Cat 4 Racers. Consistently performing well in the B race may earn you a spot in the A category. Races are held at Rentschler Field every Tuesday night starting from June 9th. Top three finishers in each race will receive an age-appropriate beverage, medal, and official results. Post-race refreshments ensure that racers stay hydrated and energized for future events. For those looking to get a head start on their cycling journey or simply practice before the main races, CCAP hosts a Junior Practice Session every Tuesday from 5:15 PM onwards. This session is free for youth riders aged nine years and older (as of December 31st of the current year) who are part of a CCAP-registered team. Non-team members can participate by paying $10. The series also includes Junior Race Nights as part of "The Waz" Junior Road Race Series, honoring Coach Matt Waskiewicz's legacy through competitive racing and community support. Additional event notes highlight the importance of adhering to USAC rules: helmets are mandatory, tri-bikes or forward-facing bar ends are not allowed, and sleeveless jerseys are prohibited. Riders can purchase either an annual license or a one-day $15 license via BikeReg for participation. Volunteers are always welcome and can race at no cost if they choose to do so. Those who fulfill their volunteer roles will receive a refund after the event concludes. Mark your calendars for TNC #2 on June 9th, TNC #3 on June 30th, Junior Race Night #1 on July 7th, TNC #4 and its dedicated junior race night on July 28th, and finally, TNC #6 Finale on August 4th.
