Nestled within the scenic beauty of Blacksmith Fork Canyon, the Top of Utah Half Marathon offers runners an unforgettable journey through some of Utah's most stunning landscapes. The race begins at the Hyrum Electrical Plant, located seven miles up the canyon, and winds its way down to Providence Zollinger Park as participants enjoy panoramic views along both sides of the water-filled gorge. On one side of the canyon, a dry desert-like terrain stretches out with rugged rock formations that speak to Utah's geological history. In contrast, the lush greenery on the other side is dotted with towering pine forests and vibrant vegetation, creating an ever-changing vista for runners as they navigate through this picturesque route. The river flows alongside the path throughout the entire race course, providing a soothing soundtrack and adding to the serene ambiance. All finishers will be rewarded with a commemorative medal upon crossing the finish line at Providence Zollinger Park. Post-race festivities include prize drawings where participants have the chance to win various prizes during the awards ceremony. The event is designed to accommodate runners of all abilities, including wheelchair and hand-cycle divisions, as well as welcoming walkers who wish to enjoy this scenic course. With a race window open for 3½ hours, competitors can take in every detail of their surroundings while challenging themselves on this half marathon distance that showcases the natural beauty of Utah.

About Providence
Learn more about the host city, Providence.
Providence is the state capital and largest city in Rhode Island, as well as the third largest city in New England. It used to be a heavily industrialized bastion of organized crime, but Providence's recent renaissance has created new parks and attractions and brought emphasis back to its historic roots as an intellectual center. Downcity events, historic vistas, eclectic districts such as College Hill and Federal Hill, and a great nightlife make Providence a worthwhile tourist destination. Today, it is perhaps best known as the home of Brown University.
