On Saturday, August 1, 2026, the town of Allineuc and Bosméléac will host the 14th edition of the Trail de la Rigole d'Hilvern. This scenic trail race offers a variety of distances to cater to runners of all ages and abilities. The main event features three adult races with limited spots available: - A challenging 19 km course that departs at 5:45 PM, winding through lush countryside trails and passing by the third highest point in Brittany—the Butte St Michel. Participants will enjoy a descent along the Rigole d'Hilvern before reaching its endpoint near the lake of Bosméléac. - A more moderate 13 km race starting at 6:10 PM, which follows the charming path alongside the Rigole d'Hilvern and skirts around the serene waters of Lake Bosméléac. This route includes a unique segment where runners can experience running near a picturesque waterfall before climbing back up to the dam. - A shorter yet equally scenic 7 km course departing at 6:30 PM, ideal for those seeking a more relaxed run along the Rigole d'Hilvern and around Lake Bosméléac. Registration fees are slightly higher on-site than pre-registration; runners can sign up from 3 to 5 minutes before their respective race start times. In addition to these adult races, families will have plenty of options for young participants: - A fun run designed specifically for children aged 5/6 years old (covering approximately 350 meters) starting at 3:30 PM.
- Another course aimed at slightly older kids between the ages of 7 to 9 years, spanning about 1.05 kilometers and beginning at 4:55 PM. - A longer children's race for those aged 10 to 14 years old, which covers a distance of 3.4 km around Lake Bosméléac, kicking off at 5:20 PM. All children’s events are free (except for the registration fee) and aim to introduce young runners to the joys of trail running in an encouraging environment with dedicated supervision. The race is part of the "Challenge Bretagne Centre" series, making it a significant event on regional calendars. Participants will appreciate the natural beauty along each route, including views from Butte St Michel down towards Lake Bosméléac and through the Rigole d'Hilvern’s winding waterways. Upon crossing the finish line, runners can enjoy post-race amenities such as showers, refreshments at a quick-service restaurant, and even dance to live music followed by an evening fireworks display over Lake Bosméléac. Registration for all events opens on-site starting from 3 PM with pre-registration slightly more affordable than day-of sign-ups. Dossards (race numbers) are available for collection between 3:30 PM until just before each race begins, and the main entrance to the camping site at Bosméléac serves as both start and finish line. A portion of every registration fee is donated to "Epi-Bretagne," a local charity supporting important causes in Brittany.
