La corrida de Pontivy

On the evening of July 14, 2026, the first edition of ACRL Pontivy's Corrida will take place. Organized by the Pontivy branch of ACRLP with support from the City of Pontivy, this event offers two measured courses: a 5 km and a 10 km run, both scheduled to conclude the day’s activities.
Participants can look forward to starting their journey at Place Aristide Briand (La Plaine). The course will wind through the Napoléonien district in the form of loops with minimal elevation changes. Runners will enjoy scenic views as they navigate these well-marked routes, which include some exciting inclines and descents.
For families, a special children's race is also on offer for kids aged 7 to 9 years old, U12 (poussins), and U14 (benjamins). These races will begin at 18:15, providing young athletes with the chance to showcase their talents in a supportive environment.
Competitors can expect a fun-filled evening starting from 17:30 for the 5 km race, which welcomes runners born after 2012. The 10 km event is set to kick off at 18:45 and caters to cadets and above. A water station will be available along both courses to keep everyone hydrated.
To cap off a successful day of running, the city will host a spectacular fireworks display in celebration of Bastille Day, lighting up the night sky as runners reach their finish lines.
Prizes for the top three male and female competitors in each race category ensure that all participants have a chance to celebrate their achievements. Whether you're an experienced runner or just starting out, this event promises an unforgettable experience amidst the vibrant atmosphere of Pontivy.
