Trail des Châtaignes

Experience the unique charm of the ninth edition of the Trail des Châtaignes on November 8th, starting from La Baussaine. Three courses will be available for runners: The Piquante at 32 km, The Chestnut at 16 km, and The Bogue at 9 km.
The race routes are largely similar to those of the seventh edition, leading you through the footsteps of Jean de Duguesclin as he fought against English forces in the woods surrounding Montmuran Castle. Both longer courses will traverse the infamous 'Bloody Path,' the castle's defensive walkways, and explore the courtyard of Montmuran!
Expect a mix of terrain that includes narrow paths, small climbs, and undulating trails—plus some refreshing moments as you navigate through La Baussaine’s scenic landscapes. Runners in The Bogue course will follow paths northward from La Baussaine.
Adequate refreshment points are set up along the route: one for The Chestnut and The Bogue courses; two for The Piquante. At the finish line, a hearty buffet featuring local products (and mostly organic) awaits you. This year's event also aims to achieve zero waste!
To make your journey easier, free shuttle services will transport participants from the Super U parking lot in Tinténiac directly to La Baussaine’s starting point. Post-race transportation is included as well.
Additional amenities include secure locker rooms and a cloakroom for changing or storing belongings. A small donation of 1 euro per entry goes towards supporting the "Together, Let's Help Gabin" association. With limited spots available for just 900 runners, sign up early to avoid disappointment!
