Trail du Liger

The 8th edition of the Trail du Liger takes place on Sunday, 31 May 2026 in Saint‑Aubin‑Rivière, France. This nature trail event offers five formats: La Mille D'Arguel (33 km, 1,000 m D+), Trail des Cavées (22 km, 600 m D+), Trail des Larris (11 km, 300 m D+), Marche des Larris (11 km, 300 m D+ walking), and three children's races. The hilly courses run mainly on forest paths and trails across 8 communes, starting and finishing at Saint‑Aubin‑Rivière. The route is fully marked but will not be revealed before race day as it uses private trails. A finisher beer will be given to every participant.

Age requirements: born in 2008 or earlier for 33 km and 22 km; born in 2010 or earlier for 11 km. The event is limited to 750 total participants. Online registration opens 1 February at 6:00 PM via NJUKO. A valid sports license or medical certificate (French or translated) must be uploaded. Minors need parental authorization.

Registration fees (before 1 April / after 1 April): 33 km – €33 / €36; 22 km – €23 / €26; 11 km – €12 / €15; walking – €5 / €6. Cancellations before 1 April are refunded minus €10 admin fee with a valid medical or major event justification. Bib transfer is not permitted. Bib pickup is Saturday 30 May from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, or Sunday 31 May from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the start village (Saint‑Aubin‑Rivière) with a valid ID or license.

The race is semi‑self‑sufficient: runners must carry their own solid and liquid supplies. One aid station is on the 22 km and 33 km courses, and finish line refreshments are for all distances. An on‑site medical team is present throughout the event. Timing is managed by MPSE with live results via QR code.

Event rules require respecting the highway code, following marshal instructions, staying on the marked course, not littering, wearing the bib visibly, and helping any runner in difficulty. Recommended gear includes food and water, rain clothing, and a charged mobile phone. The organizer reserves the right to cancel or stop the event due to force majeure — no refunds in that case. Participants grant the organizer the right to use their images for promotional purposes.

Course highlights include technical single tracks, forest paths, the famous rope descent, and the ascent of Mont d'Arguel with its exceptional panorama. The 33 km route crosses the Forêt d'Arguel and includes the Mont d'Arguel climb. The 22 km and 11 km routes also include the rope descent and the final climb through the larris (grassland hills) of Saint‑Aubin‑Rivière.
