Trail Liberté - En route pour l'Ultra Marin® du Golfe du Morbihan
About the Event
Embark on an unforgettable ultra-marathon adventure through the stunning Golfe du Morbihan, known as "the little sea" of Brittany. This unique race offers a 115 km route with over 500 meters of elevation gain across diverse terrains and breathtaking landscapes. This journey begins in Vannes, where medieval alleyways and picturesque half-timbered houses await exploration. The first day sets the stage for what’s to come as you immerse yourself in this coastal paradise. Day two brings a tranquil maritime course from Vannes to Baden. Navigate through pinewoods fragrant with apple scent and marvel at century-old goélettes, or Sinagots, docked along the shore. The route follows natural, stabilized paths that alternate between beaches, woodlands, and stairs, providing a mix of challenges and scenic beauty. On day three, venture from Baden to Auray. This segment weaves through quiet Breton villages blending tradition with history before crossing the Bono suspension bridge over the River d’Auray for an invigorating atmosphere. The route is both complete and varied; however, wet weather can add technical challenges in forested areas. Days four and five see you trek from Auray to Locmariaquer. Here, the entrance to the magnificent Golfe du Morbihan offers a magical setting for nature running. After 25 km through forests and single-track paths, you'll reach Port-Navalo at the end of your journey. The race experience includes charming accommodations in hotels along the route—three nights with twin or double rooms—and five breakfasts to start each day on a high note. You’ll also benefit from dedicated telephone support throughout the event. A unique feature is the included sea crossing between Locmariaquer and Port-Navalo, adding an element of adventure to your experience. The race concludes in Vannes, where you can reflect on this extraordinary journey through Brittany’s rich natural heritage. With a price starting at €665 per person, this event promises not just a physical challenge but also an immersive cultural and scenic experience. For more details or to secure your spot, visit the Visit Ouest website for pricing information and booking assistance. The route offers rolling terrain with significant elevation changes, ensuring a dynamic running environment. Participants will be treated to diverse landscapes including coastal paths, pine forests, and beachfronts. Accommodations are arranged in charming local hotels, providing comfortable places to rest between days of running. A digital roadbook is included, complete with GPS navigation for ease of tracking your route. The race also features a sea crossing that adds an exciting element to the overall experience.
