Turkey Trot

The Turkey Trot returns to London, Ontario on October 12th, continuing a family-friendly Thanksgiving tradition for over two decades. This 5K run and the Kids Kiddy Trot are part of an annual celebration that gathers participants from across the region. The event takes place in Victoria Park, located near downtown London's scenic waterfront, surrounded by lush green spaces and historic landmarks like the Old City Hall.
Race morning finds a crisp autumn air filling Victoria Park as runners prepare for their 2K or 6.5K run. This year marks its 20th anniversary, making it one of the city’s longest-running Thanksgiving events. Over 1,500 participants are expected to take part in various distances, with both adults and children enjoying a festive atmosphere filled with music and local vendors.
The course offers a mix of paved paths and gravel trails within Victoria Park, providing a welcoming environment for all skill levels. The route begins at the park entrance near the historic fountain and loops through winding pathways before returning to its starting point. Notable features include a brief ascent up a small hill followed by a downhill sprint towards the finish line. Aid stations are strategically placed along the course to provide water and refreshments.
On race morning, temperatures will average around 12°C with a slight breeze from the west-northwest at about 13 km/h, creating a comfortable feel despite the humidity level of 74%. Precipitation is not expected; however, runners should prepare for potential light drizzle as October often brings unexpected showers.

Race day bib pickup will be held from 8:00 am to 9:00 am at Victoria Park’s main entrance. Participants need to bring a photo ID and sign in with their race packet number.
The start location is at the park's historic fountain, located on Richmond Street West near the downtown core. The event welcomes runners of all ages; however, children under six must be accompanied by an adult during registration. First-timers should arrive early for a smooth start to this beloved London tradition.
