Nestled within the picturesque North York Moors National Park, Hardmoors 26.2 presents two trail races: the Turnpike Trot 10k and the Rabbit Run 5k. These events offer runners an opportunity to explore some of Britain's most breathtaking landscapes. Both trails are clearly marked with ample support from marshals along the way, making navigation a breeze even for those new to off-road running. The routes wind through lush woodlands and alongside tranquil rivers, providing participants with stunning vistas at every turn. The races commence from Danby Lodge National Park Centre, which serves as an ideal starting point thanks to its comprehensive facilities including an indoor climbing wall, outdoor play area, gift shop stocked with local crafts and souvenirs, scenic woodland trails for additional exploration, picnic spots, and a cozy Tea Room where runners can refuel post-race. Registration is open for the 10k race at 10:00 AM followed by the start of both races simultaneously at 11:00 AM. The Turnpike Trot welcomes participants aged ten years and older, while children as young as seven are welcome to join the Rabbit Run if accompanied by an adult who accepts full responsibility for them during the event. Entry fees cover a finisher's medal, parking, refreshments, and well-organized routes complete with marshals and markers. Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female runners in both races as well as separate categories under 18 years of age. Participants can also opt for XCover insurance, providing peace of mind should unforeseen circumstances prevent them from attending on race day. Whether you're an experienced trail runner or simply looking to enjoy a memorable outing amidst nature's splendor, these events promise a delightful experience in the heart of North York Moors.

About Whitby
Learn more about the host city, Whitby.
Whitby is a picturesque town on the coast of North Yorkshire. It was the home of Captain Cook, but is more famous as the place where Bram Stoker's Dracula landed in England. It had a population of 12,600 in 2021. On fine summer weekends it's thronged with visitors, and on moonlit nights during the Goth Festivals it hosts an imponderable number of the Undead.
