On August 28th, 2027, the UTL 50 event will take participants through a scenic circular route within the Forest of Bowland National Landscape. This challenging yet rewarding course features a mix of quiet fells and classic working land in the heart of Bowland, interspersed with fast-flowing country roads and farm tracks that wind their way around Stocks Reservoir. The reservoir offers breathtaking views of Gisburn Forest, providing runners with picturesque vistas throughout much of the race.
For those seeking an even greater adventure, the UTL 100 event on August 27th, 2027, starts and finishes in the geographical center of Britain, offering a definitive 100-mile tour through Lancashire’s varied landscapes. This circular route takes runners from remote areas within the Forest of Bowland to historic cityscapes along canal and riverside paths in Lancaster. Along the way, participants will encounter multiple scenic countryside locations that showcase the rich natural beauty and cultural heritage of this region.
Both events provide an opportunity for runners to purchase XCover insurance, ensuring they can receive a refund if unforeseen circumstances prevent them from participating on race day.
