Vasaloppet, the prestigious 90 km classic cross-country ski race from Sälen to Mora in Sweden, is set for Sunday, March 7, 2027. The event offers skiers an unparalleled journey through stunning Scandinavian landscapes and challenging terrain. For Danish participants, a special arrangement includes bus transport on Friday morning with comfortable accommodation at Centralskolan or Hole Bystugan over the weekend. Participants will enjoy centralized lodging options featuring full-board accommodations including meals for those staying at Centralskolan. For Hole Bystugan guests, there is an option to self-cater. Registration opens on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at noon and closes by February 17, 2027, or earlier if spots are sold out. Skiers must be members of a ski club under the Danish Ski Federation to participate in Vasaloppet through this organization. The race day features an energizing atmosphere with fellow skiers from Denmark sharing camaraderie and support along the route. Upon crossing the finish line at Mora, participants will receive refreshments including sandwiches or light meals as part of the post-race celebration. Participants are encouraged to embrace the spirit of Danish participation by purchasing a Dannebrog scarf, badge, or ribbon in patriotic colors upon registration. These items can also be bought separately and sent directly with your race number if ordered together during sign-up. The event organizers reserve the right to adjust routes, times, meeting points, and accommodations based on logistical needs and participant numbers. A detailed travel plan will be emailed one week before Vasaloppet. For those unable to attend but still wish to support fellow skiers or maintain their race entry, there is an option to sell your start number through a dedicated link provided post-registration. This ensures that the registration process remains flexible for all involved parties. Vasaloppet promises an unforgettable experience of Nordic beauty and sporting excellence, inviting participants to immerse themselves in this historic event's rich traditions and scenic challenges.
