About the Event

Running enthusiasts from around the world converge on Sälen for one of Scandinavia's most celebrated ultra trail races: Ultravasan 90. This epic journey follows the legendary route of the historic Vasaloppet, stretching an impressive 92 kilometers through some of Sweden’s most picturesque landscapes.
The race begins early in the morning from Berga by Sälen, allowing participants to witness a breathtaking dawn departure as they set out under the soft glow of sunrise. The course meanders through dense forests and expansive marshes, offering runners stunning views that change with every step. Iconic checkpoints along the way serve not only as landmarks but also as reminders of the rich history embedded in this terrain.
As participants navigate from Sälen to Mora, they encounter a mix of gentle runnable stretches interspersed with challenging sections featuring narrow trails and gravel roads. This varied landscape keeps runners engaged throughout their journey, testing both endurance and agility while showcasing the natural beauty that defines Sweden’s countryside.
The weekend preceding Ultravasan 90 is filled with additional races catering to different distances and preferences: Trailvasan 30 in Oxberg and Ultravasan 45, providing a range of options for runners looking to experience various lengths of this historic route. For those who wish to enjoy the spirit of Vasaloppet without committing to an ultra distance, there’s also a relay race on offer.
Ultravasan 90 is more than just a run; it's an immersive journey into Sweden’s natural and cultural heritage, offering runners unforgettable memories along one of the most revered trails in ultramarathon racing.
