Viaduct Run 5 mile

The Viaduct Run is an exhilarating multi-terrain race that spans approximately five miles, winding through the picturesque landscapes of Hafodyrynys. This community-driven event supports Sofrydd Primary School and offers runners a unique blend of road closures, cycle tracks, and disused railway lines to challenge their skills.
Participants must be at least 15 years old on race day and can register for either £10 if they sign up ahead of time or £12 as an unregistered entry. A small booking charge applies in both cases. The event is licensed by UK Athletics, ensuring a safe and organized experience for all runners.
Race day will see participants starting just one minute's walk from Hafodyrynys Rugby Club before embarking on the scenic course that showcases local scenery and terrain diversity. All finishers receive a commemorative medal to mark their achievement, while race awards are presented at The Swffryd community center following completion of the run.
In addition to the main event, there is also a 5k fun run for those looking for a shorter but equally enjoyable experience. Both events celebrate inclusivity with free races available for children and individuals requiring accommodations due to disabilities.
Entries close on July 18th, so early registration is recommended as only 200 spots are up for grabs. Participants will receive race day information via email before the event, detailing how to collect their numbers at the designated desk.
Transfers of entry can be made through your Entry Central account until June 28th if you need to pass on your spot to another runner.
