Welcome to the vibrant Catamount Outdoor Family Center, where race #4 of Vermont Youth Cycling unfolds on a picturesque weekend. This event overlaps with Green Mountain Cyclocross, creating an exciting opportunity for families and young cyclists alike to explore both disciplines. Camping is available on-site, making it easy for participants to extend their stay and enjoy the festival atmosphere that permeates the area. For VTYC members, registration fees are waived; simply use the coupon code "CATAMOUNTMEMBER26" during sign-up. Non-members can join the League at a reduced rate or pay $50 per race. Parents are encouraged to contribute by bringing tents, chairs, and food for their riders. Ensure you bring everything needed for the day and pack out any trash; portable toilets will be provided on-site. The event kicks off with pre-riding from 8:30 to 9:45 AM, allowing racers to familiarize themselves with the course before the main races begin. Chip pick-up and registration are available between 9:00 and 9:45 AM. A mandatory coaches' meeting will take place at VTYC Tent for parents of independent riders starting at 9:30 AM. The Cat C and C+ races commence at 10:00 AM, followed by the Junior race at 10:15 AM. Pre-riding is allowed from 10:45 AM onwards for Cat A and B racers, who must yield to juniors still on course. The day concludes with a podium ceremony around 11:00 AM for the Junior/Cat C category. Cat B racing starts at approximately 12:30 PM, followed by the Cat A race beginning just after noon. Podiums will be awarded to the top five riders in each group, ensuring an exhilarating finish. Course pre-riding is open from 8:30 to 9:45 AM on Saturday morning, giving racers a chance to explore and strategize before competing. Chip timing volunteers are stationed at the finish chute; return your chip or face a $50 charge if you forget it. Volunteers are essential for the smooth operation of the event.
