WCBC 2026 Savage Century

Experience the unparalleled beauty and challenge of the 2026 Savage Century, where rural Pennsylvania's charm meets steep hills and scenic vistas. This year’s race invites participants to explore Chester and Lancaster Counties, starting from Newark DE before winding its way westward through rolling farmlands with a touch of Pennsylvania Dutch simplicity.
As you embark on this journey, prepare for the iconic climbs that have made the Savage Century legendary: Slate Hill, Bradys Hill, Pilgrims Pathway, and Furniss Road. These hills will test your endurance as they take you along the Susquehanna River’s hilly landscapes, offering breathtaking views from atop the ridges.
For newcomers to this challenging route, it is advised that bikes be equipped with a low gear of approximately 40 gear-inches—such as a 28-tooth rear sprocket and 42-tooth chain ring on typical road bikes—to ease the ascent up major hills. This setup ensures smoother rides without overexerting your muscles.
The event kicks off on Saturday, September 26, 2026, with rider check-in between 7:00 am to 9:30 am, ensuring a staggered start for all participants. Riders must pass through the check-in process to receive their wristbands and cue sheets. The race will conclude by 5:00 pm, allowing ample time for support services.

- Standard Registration (Sept 13 – Sept 30): $40 per Club member; $55 per non-member
- Late/Event Day Registration (Oct 1-3): $50 per Club member; $65 per non-member
Participants registering on event day must use their own cell phones or smart devices for online registration, with instructions posted at the start. No cash or credit card payments will be accepted.
Throughout your journey, you'll find marked routes and cue sheets to guide your way. Support services are available until 4:30 pm, including multiple rest stops provided by WCBC where you can grab a quick snack or use facilities. Completing the century route grants you a special Savage Century patch, with additional convenience stores along or near the race courses.
