WENTWORTH CASTLE GARDENS TRAIL RUNS - 5KM & 10KM

Immerse yourself in the enchanting beauty of Wentworth Castle Gardens for an unforgettable evening of Trail Runs on Wednesday, 16th June 2027. This mid-week adventure offers both a scenic 5km and a more challenging 10km route through South Yorkshire's stunning Grade I registered landscape.
The event kicks off at 7:00 PM with the 10km run, followed by the 5km race starting at 7:10 PM. These evening runs provide exclusive access to Wentworth Castle Gardens after hours, allowing participants to explore its historic landmarks and lush trails in a serene atmosphere.
For those new to trail running or looking for an easygoing pace, the 5km route is ideal, suitable for runners aged 11 years and older. The 10km course, designed for more experienced athletes (age 15+), takes you through winding woodland paths and past ancient woodlands, offering a scenic challenge that highlights the garden's natural beauty.
Wentworth Castle Gardens boasts over 500 acres of rolling parkland, dotted with historic landmarks such as the Rotunda, Serpentine Bridge, and Stainborough Castle. Ancient trees line your path, creating an immersive experience where runners can enjoy gothic turrets, formal gardens, and breathtaking views at every turn.
The event is also welcoming to Canicross enthusiasts, allowing one controlled dog per runner on a lead throughout the course. This adds an extra layer of enjoyment for those who love running with their furry friends.
Upon crossing the finish line, participants will be rewarded with medals, merchandise items, snacks, and drinks. For an additional £14 during registration, you can also opt to receive a custom event T-shirt.
