The West Van Run - The Annual 5K & 10K of West Vancouver returns on Saturday, October 3rd. This event takes place along the scenic trails of Lynn Canyon Park in West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Race morning finds participants lining up at the park entrance off West Boulevard and Lynn Creek Drive. As runners prepare for their run, they are greeted by the cool, crisp air that characterizes early autumn weather. The setting is picturesque with lush greenery surrounding the route; hikers and nature enthusiasts often pass through this area. On race day, participants will enjoy a well-marked course that begins at Lynn Canyon Park’s main entrance.
West Van Run has been a staple in West Vancouver for over two decades now. Since its inception, it has attracted thousands of runners who come to support the local community's fundraising efforts and enjoy the beautiful trails of Lynn Canyon. This year, participants can choose from either a 5K or 10K run through the park’s firm yet slightly soft terrain.
The start is marked by the iconic bridge leading into Lynn Canyon Park, while the finish line welcomes runners at the same entrance. Along the way, there are no aid stations planned; however, water bottles will be available for purchase from local vendors. The course offers a mix of uphill and downhill sections that provide both challenges and scenic views.
On race day in October, temperatures typically range between 10°C to 15°C (50°F to 60°F) with low humidity levels making it comfortable but slightly chilly early on. There is no significant wind or precipitation expected during the event; however, participants are advised to wear layers and bring rain gear if necessary.
The race offers a variety of distances: The Double for those who want to complete both the 5K and 10K routes totaling 15 kilometers (9.3 miles), a full 5K run, or even two one-kilometer races for kids called the Kids Double that covers exactly two kilometers.

The registration fee is CA$72.10 per person for the 5K and CA$125.95 for those choosing to complete both the 5K and 10K, known as "The Double." Participants must bring their race bibs on race day; they will be distributed at Lynn Canyon Park’s main entrance starting from September 30th.
Runners can expect a start location address of West Boulevard and Lynn Creek Drive in West Vancouver. The event is open to runners aged 18 years or older who are looking for an enjoyable morning run through one of the most scenic parks in British Columbia, Canada.
