"When the Peach Ripens" GAME03 2026 (2026第六届蜜桃成熟时·GAME03)
About the Event
The sixth edition of "When the Peach Ripens" moves its summer night party to Mt. Geshan, starting 5:00 PM on Saturday, August 22 at the Ant House Forest Nature Education Base in Pengzhou, Chengdu. Distance options include a 15K route, an 8K route, and an 8K parent-child category, with early-bird pricing through July 28. The course winds past orchards heavy with fruit and the centuries-old Geshan Temple before climbing to the Xianju Pavilion viewpoint, where the surrounding hills and farmland open up beneath a peach-orchard sunset. Named for Ge Hong, the Eastern Jin dynasty Daoist who once practiced here, Mt. Geshan carries deep religious history alongside the striking geology of the Longmenshan fault zone -- pear blossoms in spring, cool relief in summer, ginkgo gold in autumn, and snow in winter. This edition leans fully into a summer nature theme: entry includes admission to a live-insect discovery center, and runners can join a free evening firefly release as the forest lights up after dark. Camping is available at the start/finish so runners can settle in for the night rather than travel home, with music, cold drinks, fresh fruit, and open-air barbecue at the venue. Every finisher receives a local Geshan pear to take home.
