Winter Downs 100

Winter runners seeking an epic challenge will find their calling at this 100-mile endurance race along the South Downs Way and North Downs Way. Spanning three days, participants have up to 35 hours to navigate through rugged terrain under a mix of daylight and moonlit conditions.
The journey begins from the picturesque Amberley Museum in West Sussex, where runners embark on a westward trek for 42 miles across undulating landscapes until reaching Exton. Here, they turn northeast onto the Wayfarers Walk before transitioning onto St. Swithuns Way towards Farnham, covering another 32 miles of scenic trails.
After rejoining the North Downs Way at its trailhead near Farnham, runners tackle a final leg of 26 miles to Box Hill and Juniper Hall. Throughout this grueling journey, competitors will face stretches without immediate aid stations and endure up to 16 hours of darkness each day, pushing their physical limits in a winter wonderland.
Support along the route is robust, with live tracking available for all participants and crew access at three designated checkpoints where hot meals and volunteer assistance await. Drop bags can be left at these points to ensure runners have everything they need without carrying unnecessary weight through long stretches between aid stations.
