Winter Downs 200

The Winter Downs 200, scheduled for December 9th through 13th, 2026, is a monumental endurance challenge that spans the rugged and picturesque landscapes of southern England. This epic trail run covers an immense distance of 200 miles in a continuous loop, weaving through some of Britain's most scenic trails including the North Downs Way, Vanguard Way, South Downs Way, Wayfarers Walk, and St Swithun’s Way.
Participants will have up to four days—96 hours—to complete this grueling course. The route begins at Juniper Hall near Box Hill, where runners embark on a journey that takes them eastward along the North Downs Way for 18 miles before intersecting with the Vanguard Way at Botley Hill. From there, they continue south for approximately 45 miles to Alfriston, marking the halfway point of this arduous trek.
After reaching Alfriston, runners turn west and traverse nearly 80 miles along the South Downs Way towards Exton. The course then shifts northeast as it follows sections of both the Wayfarers Walk and St Swithun’s Way for a total distance of around 32 miles before rejoining the North Downs Way near Farnham.
The final leg sees participants completing their loop back to Juniper Hall, covering an additional 25 miles along the North Downs Way. Throughout this journey, runners will face challenging terrain and long stretches between aid stations, with each day bringing approximately 16 hours of darkness that add to the adventure's intensity.
Support crews are permitted throughout the event, providing crucial assistance at three major aid stations where hot food, sleeping facilities, and live tracking updates ensure participants can push their limits while maintaining safety.
