Celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Women's Fun Run & Walk, organized by Bunbury Runners Club Inc. and sponsored by Vestrum Obstetrics & Gynaecology, on Sunday, October 25 at 8:00 AM. This non-competitive event is designed to encourage women and young girls to embrace a healthier lifestyle through exercise and community engagement. Participants can join as runners or walkers, enjoying the scenic course along Leschenault Inlet and Queens Gardens. The atmosphere will be warm and welcoming, perfect for socializing with other local women. The 5km run/walk registration is $38, while the 10km run costs $41. For juniors aged 7 to 12 years old, entry fees are $13 each. Payment includes processing fees and GST. Entry options include online registration only; no late or on-day entries will be accepted. Pre-order your 2026 event shirt for just $40—new designs this year! Limited stock and sizes may become available after September 1st, with a final opportunity to purchase at bib pick-up day if supplies remain. Children under 8 years can participate in the Geotech SuperHero Sprint; they must be accompanied by an adult and register on race day or during bib pickup. All proceeds will support two local organizations: Harbour (formerly South West Women's Refuge) and Milligan House Young Adult Programs, with a special focus this year on collecting new items such as underwear, leggings, T-shirts, sun hats, thongs, onesies, sneakers, and school shorts for children. Donations can be brought to training sessions or bib pickup day. To help prepare, Bunbury Runners Club is hosting free 6-week training programs starting September 15th at the Recreation Ground on Tuesday nights from 5:30 PM. Thursday nights also offer a road run/walk session beginning at 6:00 PM—both sessions cater to all fitness levels. The race will start and finish in Queens Gardens, Cobblestone Drive, Bunbury, with participants completing a loop course in an anti-clockwise direction. For the health and safety of everyone involved, please do not attend if you are unwell on the day. The event is open only to females aged 8 years or older. Electronic timing will be used for runners; no dogs, wheels (such as bikes, scooters, or skateboards), or prams are allowed on course. Parents must supervise their children during the race. Event packs can be collected from Vestrum’s upstairs location at Blood Bank on Saturday, October 24th, between 9:00 AM and noon. Those unable to collect ahead of time should arrive early enough before the start to pick up their pack. Spot prizes will be awarded based on race numbers, but participants must be present to claim them. Entries close midnight on Thursday, October 22nd; no refunds are offered due to its charitable nature. For further details or inquiries, contact brc6230wfr@gmail.com. Join us for a memorable and supportive event that celebrates women's health, community spirit, and the beauty of coastal Bunbury!
