X-WATERS Montenegro

About the Event

X-WATERS Montenegro 2026 invites endurance enthusiasts to explore the breathtaking Kotor Bay, part of Europe's southernmost fjord. This unique race offers two scenic courses: a shorter 4.5-kilometer route from Perast to Risan and an extended 7-kilometer course that loops back through both towns.
Competitors will navigate between two historic islands nestled within the bay – St. George, home to the Benedictine abbey, and Gospa od Škrpjela (Our Lady of the Rocks), a man-made island shrouded in centuries-old tradition. The latter was constructed by Perast's inhabitants using shipwreck debris as a symbolic act against Kotor’s influence.
Swimmers will experience calm waters ideal for long-distance swimming, with temperatures that remain surprisingly warm throughout much of the year. Spectacular views from both water and shorelines provide an awe-inspiring backdrop to this challenging yet rewarding race.
The event is not merely about crossing distances but connecting two towns rich in history and cultural significance. Participants are treated to a blend of natural beauty and architectural splendor, making X-WATERS Montenegro 2026 a memorable addition to any athlete's calendar.
