Chinese Athletics Association Class A certification pending, the Xiangyang Marathon starts 7:30 AM on Sunday, October 25 in Xiangyang, Hubei, with 20,000 runners split between a marathon (42.195km, 5,000 spots) and half marathon (21.0975km, 15,000 spots). Pre-registration and payment run July 30 15:00 through August 20 18:00, with lottery results announced late August and full refunds for unsuccessful entrants.
Known as "China's first walled city," Xiangyang has more than 2,800 years of urban history; its Han River docks once bustled with trade between north and south, and its ancient walls once watched over the region's defenders.
Entry fees: marathon 180rmb, half marathon 150rmb.
