XVIII DUATLÓN UNIVERSIDAD DE CANTABRIA CIUDAD DE SANTANDER 2026

The XVIII Duathlon of the University of Cantabria and City of Santander is set to take place on Sunday, April 26, 2026, with registration opening at 10:00 AM. This prestigious event doubles as both the Campeonato de Duatlón Universidad de Cantabria 2026 and the II Campeonato de Cantabria Supersprint Duathlon.
The race format is a Supersprint duathlon consisting of a 2-kilometer run, followed by a 7.2-kilometer bike ride, concluding with another kilometer on foot. Participants will first compete in an individual time trial (ITT) and later join group sprints for the final stages. The event caters to both licensed athletes from FETRI and unlicensed competitors, offering prizes but not championship titles to those without a license.
The race is divided into categories based on age: infantile participants with at least 12 registered will compete in an ITT format; cadets and older will complete the full course including individual time trials followed by group starts. Registration fees are €15 for licensed athletes and €25 for non-licensed competitors.
The race takes place within the Parque Científico y Tecnológico de Cantabria (PCTCAN), featuring a mix of asphalt running paths and cycling circuits that loop around the park's perimeter, providing scenic views along the way. The event will adhere to FETRI’s latest competition regulations as of November 2025.
Competitors are encouraged to arrive early for material checks starting at 9:15 AM and bib collection from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM, with all activities wrapping up by noon. The race schedule includes separate time trial starts based on gender and age categories, culminating in a series of finals that determine the overall winners as well as Cantabrian champions.
The day’s highlights will include an exciting display of speed and endurance from some of Spain's top duathletes, with prize awards presented at 2:00 PM. The event promises to be a thrilling showcase for both seasoned athletes and newcomers alike, set against the backdrop of Cantabria’s vibrant scientific park.
