12. Rotenburger Strandfestlauf

Rotenburg's Strandfestlauf returns on July 3, 2026, offering runners of all ages and skill levels an engaging day out. The race starts and finishes at Breitenstraße/Marktplatz in Rotenburg (Wümme), inviting participants from across the region to enjoy a diverse program tailored for everyone.
The centerpiece event is a main run covering 7.66 kilometers over five laps, featuring scenic routes through Brückengasse, Steinweg, Brotgasse, Kurze Gasse, Poststraße, Altstadtstraße, Untergasse, and Breitenstraße. This course offers runners the chance to explore Rotenburg's charming streets in a challenging yet rewarding setting.
For younger participants, there’s an adapted route of 1248 meters designed specifically for school-aged children, ensuring they can enjoy the race while keeping pace with their peers. Meanwhile, elite athletes have the opportunity to compete over a mile-long distance (1609 meters) that demands exceptional fitness and speed, setting high standards for those who wish to participate.
A new addition this year is the Biermeile, where runners tackle 7 kilometers interspersed with stops every 400 meters to enjoy an alcohol-free beer. This relaxed event emphasizes camaraderie and fun over competition, allowing participants to savor each lap of the course while enjoying a unique twist on traditional racing.
Registration for the Strandfestlauf closes at 6:00 PM on July 2, with no walk-in sign-ups available after this time. Number collection will take place from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM on race day at Marktplatz. Participants can change and shower in the Bernhard-Faust-Halle located on Braacher Straße.
