Since its inception in 2014, this event has grown to become a significant part of Hapeville’s annual calendar, supporting local scholarships and educational programs that impact countless lives each year. In just three days from race day, online registration closes at September 21, ensuring everyone has ample time to sign up.
The course winds through the scenic trails of Jess Lucas Park, offering a flat terrain with minimal elevation changes, perfect for both seasoned runners and beginners alike. The surface is hard and dry, ideal for optimal performance on this autumn morning. Aid stations are strategically placed along the route, providing water stops every 1 kilometer to keep you hydrated.
Weather conditions predict an average temperature of around 23 degrees Celsius with a slight chill in the air, making it comfortable but not too cool or warm. The humidity ranges at about 70%, ensuring no moisture issues on your skin while running. A moderate UV index suggests wearing sunscreen for protection against sun exposure during your run.
The race offers both an IN PERSON and VIRTUAL option. For those joining us in person, registration is $35; virtual participants can join from anywhere with a fee of $45. Bib pickup is on Friday, September 24 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Hapeville City Hall. Bring your photo ID to pick up a race bib and timing chip for in-person participants; virtual runners can skip this step as their online registration serves as proof of participation.
The start line is located on Peachtree Road, just north of Jess Lucas Park. The event welcomes runners aged 16 and above, though younger participants are welcome to join the Kids Fun Run free of charge. Ensure you bring your race bib for both in-person and virtual participation; team captains should register their teams by September 24.
Finishers receive a medal along with all participants, plus awards for top individuals and teams based on fastest times. The largest fundraising team will also be recognized at the event’s post-race celebration and fun activities that follow the race day festivities.
