14th Annual Stuffing Strut

The 14th Annual Stuffing Strut in Hixson, Tennessee, on November 26, 2026, is a unique five-kilometer walk/run that sets the stage for Thanksgiving feasts to come. This event takes place under the golden hour light of early fall, with leaves still clinging to their branches and the air crisp but not too cold. The race course winds through Chester Frost Park, where the community comes alive on this special morning.
The Stuffing Strut has been a tradition since 2013, aiming to benefit local organizations while providing participants an opportunity to get fit for holiday feasts ahead. This year’s event expects over two hundred runners and walkers, all contributing their efforts towards causes close to our hearts—namely the Northside Neighborhood House, Soddy-Daisy Food Bank, Dallas Bay Volunteer Fire Department, and Jim Wilson Fund at Soddy-Daisy Middle School.
The course itself offers a variety of terrains that keep things interesting. The route begins with firm and slightly soft trails through the park, gently sloping to add some elevation change without being too challenging for beginners or seasoned runners alike. Along the way, you'll pass by picturesque sights like old oak trees and wildlife paths—though we prefer to focus on describing them realistically rather than overhawking their beauty.
Aid stations are strategically placed every kilometer, ensuring that participants stay well-hydrated during this morning event. At the finish line, there’s a pavilion where all runners can gather for post-race festivities and refreshments provided by local businesses.
On race day, expect temperatures around 13 degrees Celsius with some light breezes of about eight to nine miles per hour. Humidity will be high at just under seventy percent, so remember to bring layers as the temperature may drop slightly in the early morning hours. Rainfall is minimal, typically less than three millimeters, but always carry a jacket or poncho for unexpected wet spells.

Registration opens on November 25th from 7:30 am to 8:30 pm at Chester Frost Park Pavilion; be sure to pick up your race day shirt during this time. Those unable to attend packet pickup can still register online until the morning of the event, with a $25 fee for participation.
Race start is scheduled for 8:30 am on November 26th from the same location. Participants must be at least fifteen years old and are encouraged to pre-register but can sign up day-of if space remains. First-timers will find it easy; just arrive early, follow race officials' directions, and enjoy the event!
